Mission Statement of the Leon County Sheriff's Office Foundation
The mission of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office Foundation (LCSOF) is to foster and strengthen the bonds between the Alumni, the Community, and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO). As a non-profit organization under 26 U.S. C. X 501, LCSOF is dedicated to:
- Promoting Community Relations: Facilitating a close relationship between the LSCO Citizen’s Academy Alumni, the community, and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation.
- Supporting LCSO’s Mission: Providing unwavering support to the mission of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and the LCSO Citizen’s Academy Alumni by actively participating in initiatives that contribute to the betterment of the community.
- Charitable and Educational Initiatives: Developing and implementing programs while raising funds to support charitable and educational initiatives aligned with the LCSOF’s mission and the community’s well-being.
- Non-Intervention Policy: Adhering to a “Non-Interventional Foundation” principle, LCSOF members, not commissioned peace officers, shall observe and report any offense, maintaining a strict commitment to ethical conduct and refraining from involvement in law enforcement activities.
- Inclusive Membership: Embracing diversity and ensuring an inclusive environment LCSOF welcomes all Citizen’s Academy graduates, fostering a community that rejects discrimination based on race, religion, sex, or ethnic background.
LCSOF, governed by a dedicated Board of Directors, commits to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability. Through collaboration and engagement, we strive to make meaningful contributions to the community and support the Leon County Sheriff’s Office in its pursuit of safety, justice, and community well-being.
